Good morning Chestnut Class!

 

Reading for 30 minutes.  You can do this in shorter chunks if you wish.  Please note down what you have read in your yellow reading record. 

Grammar  - Today we will be looking at differentiating between direct and indirect speech.  There is a powerpoint and set of sheets attached.  Please choose which level of sheet you feel best suits you.  There is no need to complete all 3. 

 

Guided reading – I will be running a live session this morning at 9.15.  Please join me for the first chapter of The Boy Who Grew Dragons.  I will be reading this to you and we will have some discussions about our initial thoughts.  Here is the log on information for the session:

English – Goblinology page 29.  Re-read the poem on pages 27/8.  Using the planning format at the top of page 29, please brainstorm ideas for evidence of a Goblin.  This can be your own Goblin or one from earlier in the booklet.  I would like you to think about what you might see or find, what you might hear, what might go missing and any other ideas.  This will be the planning for your own poem, which you will be writing on Wednesday!

 

Maths – We will be working on multiplying and dividing by 9.  I have attached a teaching powerpoint that you need to watch first.  I have also attached the question and answer sheets for this session.

 

Maths fluency – Please practise times tables using Hit the Button.  I am looking forward to us beating our best scores as a class when we all return to school!

 

RE – We will do our first lesson on Humanism.  This is a new unit and I am looking forward to learning new things myself!
