Here is your learning for Wednesday 3rd February 2021

Term 3 Week 5

Wednesday 3rd February 2021

Good morning Chestnut Class!

I hope you enjoyed the live lesson on what to do on a walk.  Next week we will invite you to watch sessions on ponds and traps on Tuesday and Thursday.  Details of how to join those sessions will be sent to you later in the week

Reading for 30 minutes.  You can do this in shorter chunks if you wish.  Please note down what you have read in your yellow reading record.

Spelling  - We will be revisiting the il, im, in and ir prefix words from Monday.  I have attached a set of flash cards for you to practise with.  I want you to think about what these prefixes do to a root word.  What is the root word when you remove the prefix?

For example:  impolite > remove the prefix > polite.  What is the effect of the prefix im here?

Whole class reader – Please complete the comprehension questions for this final chapter.  I have attached them to the blog post.

Again, for reference, you can listen to an audio while you re-read the chapter if you wish:

The Iron Man - Chapter 5 by Ted Hughes - YouTube

English – Goblinology page 24.  Part 2 of the task set on Monday.  Please write up your instructions/recipe neatly and include diagrams where you think they will make your explanation clearer.

I have attached some useful references to help you build on your planning.

Maths – Today we will be multiplying and dividing by 1 and 0.  I have attached the question and answer sheets and you will need to watch this video first:

Aut4.10.5 - Multiply by 1 and 0 on Vimeo

Science – Today we will be thinking about boiling and melting points using the learning video and quiz from the Oak Academy:

What are melting points and boiling points? (thenational.academy)

Have a lovely day,
