St Barnabas School would like to invite your child to join in our ‘Make a Festive Decoration’ competition, to really get us all into the spirit of advent!

Grab whatever materials you have handy, and create something lovely that could hang upon a tree. Don’t worry if you don’t have glitter or ribbon, as special consideration will also be given for decorations that are creative with materials than might not usually be used…

Criteria

Pupils need to make a decoration that:

- Is eye-catching and attractive

- Can hang upon a tree branch

- Can be brought into school without breaking

- Is labelled with the maker’s name and class

Entry

Please bring your decoration to the Outdoor Classroom in the morning before school. Entries will be left on a table for viewing and judging, so a small label with the pupil’s name and class would also be very helpful. 

Submissions can be made for the first two days once school reopens.

Prizes

Prizes will be awarded for three categories

- Most beautiful decoration (focusing on colours, sparkles, etc)

- Best-engineered decoration (focusing on thoughtful design, great shape etc)

- Thinking-outside-the-box decoration (focusing on reusable materials, surprising features etc)

Judging

The winner for each category will receive a small prize. Date of judging is to be confirmed.
