Maths
Please watch the White Rose Learning Video using the link vimeo.com/468940874 about multiples and have a piece of paper and a pen or pencil to jot down any answers or working out. Pause the video when you need to do calculations and give yourself plenty of time. Please remember that the answers are always given by the person who is presenting the videos. After you have seen the video work through the two White Rose sheets about multiples. Remember to also show any of your working out. When you have completed these mark your answers using the answer sheet to check your answers. If you feel confident with multiples, I have also given you Classroom Secrets power point slides with worksheets and answers. Work through the sheets I normally give you. Remember that the easiest start with 1A.

1. Here are our new spellings for the week.
Copy out each of our new spellings neatly, 5 times each, to help you learn the spellings and as a Handwriting activity. To help you learn the spellings write them as a ‘Spelling Pyramid’. These words end with either tial or cial. The endings are tricky so be careful! Remember how you must join up your letters:
special crucial beneficial essential confidential substantial financial initial official confidential
Now put each spelling into a sentence to show that you understand the meaning of each word. If you are unsure of the meaning of a word remember to look it up in a dictionary.
Can you include a subordinate clause?
Can you put a comparative conjunction in your sentence, for example as well as, also, equally, similarly, likewise?
Can you use a contrasting conjunction, for example, alternatively, although, whereas, while, in contrast, however, despite?
Can you write a relative clause using a relative pronoun, for example that, who, whom, which, whatever, where?
Can you include some speech marks in your sentences?
What other words for ‘said’ can you use? Remember to use a range of punctuation. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO INCLUDE ALL OF THESE IN EACH SENTENCE.
2. Continue working through your ‘Talk for Writing’ Booklet that I have uploaded for you – ‘The Ultimate Guide to Elves and Sprites’ by Pie Corbett. Please fill in the table on page 7. Simply jot down in note form your own ideas about your creature on the table on page 11. Also, answer some of the questions that are above the table on page 11 and put these into the table.

3. Reading
Please remember to read independently for 40 minutes! For your 30 minute Guided Reading Session read through independently Chapters 2 and 3 of ‘Street Child’ by Berlie Doherty.

Work through Session 1 of the Diocese plans. By the send of the session you should be able to answer the question ‘Why did God’s people need freedom and justice?’ Imagine that you are a Hebrew slave. Describe your thoughts and feelings to a member of your family. Why do you need salvation?/Why do you need to be rescued? Why do you feel oppressed? To be oppressed is when someone who is in authority treats you cruelly and unjustly and you are not free to do what you want. Why were the Hebrew slaves oppressed? Draw a picture of a Hebrew slave and around it create thought bubbles that show what a Hebrew slave might be thinking and feeling. Look at the painting found in Ancient Egypt that is in the Diocese plans and the Moses slides I sent you for ideas of what a slave wore and what they looked like.
