This Week's Learning
Term 1 Week 5
In English and Communication this week, we will start by reflecting upon the descriptive sentences that we wrote over the last two weeks. We will consider how to arrange and sequence them to create a complete piece of descriptive writing. Next, we will start to use and apply these skills to begin a diary extract from the point of view of Samuel Pepys.
In Phonics, we will continue to use and apply our level 5 sounds to read texts with growing accuracy.
Here are the tricky words we are learning this week:
like
so
do
some
come
were
there
Little
when
out
what
In Maths, we are focusing on interpreting number-lines. We will focus on both numbered and unnumbered number-lines to 100. We will also develop our estimating skills as well.
In Science and Computing, we will consider the pros and cons of using IT. We will then reflect upon the tasks we completed last week.
In Time and Place, we will explore the causes of the Great Fire of London and consider why it spread so quickly and was so difficult to put out. We will finish the week by attending a live virtual guided tour of the Fire, Fire Exhibit at the Museum of London.
We will also complete Mastering Number, Guided Reading, PE and Design and the Arts lessons as well.
