This Week's Learning
Term 1 Week 5
In English and Communication this week we are going to complete our first-person descriptions of the Great Fire of London. We are going to use sentences which show and tell the audience how Toby was feeling. We are also going to include exclamation and question sentences as well.
In Phonics, we are going to focus on using and applying the level 5 phonics skills we learnt last year to read texts with fluency. We have attached the level 5 sounds to this week's phonics blog post.
In Maths, we are going to begin the week by writing numbers in their expanded form using addition calculations. Then we are going to explore how the numbers 0-100 can be represented on number-lines. Please look at the Maths blog post if you would like to practise these skills at home.
In Science and Computing, we are going to continue to explore the application of IT in the wider world and explore the pros and cons of using IT for specific purposes.
In Time and Place, we are going to explore the idea of chronology. We are going to be presented with artefacts which we need to closely examine and place in chronological order.
We will also complete Mastering Number, Guided Reading, PE and Design and the Arts lessons. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to get in touch using the class email address.
