This Week's Learning
Term 1 Week 3
In English and Communication, we are turning our attention towards one of this term's key texts, 'The Great Fire of London' by Emma Adams. We are going to use this wonderful non-fiction text make historical discoveries about the London in 1666. We will also use it to learn more about the key events leading up to and during the fire.

We will also read 'Toby and the Great Fire of London' and use our newly gained understanding to write some first person descriptive sentences from the point of view of Toby – the book's main character.
In Phonics, we will focus on revisiting the Phase 4 Tricky words: said, have, like, so, do, some, come were, there, little, one, when, out, what
We will also revisit the Phase 5 sounds. I have attached a copy of the Phase 5 sound mat to the blog so you can practise these sounds at home.
In Maths, we are continuing to focus on Place Value. We are going to use Place Value cards to help us partition 2-digit numbers. Then we will explore how to flexibly partition 2-digit numbers using practical resources such as base ten blocks.
In Science and Computing, we are going to use Information Technology to research and explore information about The Great Fire of London.
