Term 6 Week 5

Here is an outline of your learning for term 6, week 5:

Term 6 Week 5 – overview

We have our ukulele lesson with Mr Lawrence as usual this week.

Spelling and grammar – we will be working on spellings from the year 3 and 4 statutory list.

In English, we will be working on poetry inspired by animal and plant habitats that links to our learning in science.

In maths, we are working on decimals and will be learning about tenths as decimals, tenths on a place value chart, tenths on a number line and dividing a 1-digit number by 10.

In Science, we will be grouping living things as part of our unit on animals and their habitats.

In RE we will be continuing our unit exploring what it is like to be a Hindu in Britain today.  We will explore how worship takes place at home and in the Mandir.  We will also consider the cycle of samsara and how this affects how Hindus live their lives.

PE is on Tuesday morning and Thursday afternoon.

Reading records will be sent home, with free-reading children choosing a book from the selection in class or bringing one from the reading scheme.  All children have an additional book in their tray for reading sessions in class.  Please could we have reading records in school to be checked on Tuesday and Friday mornings.

Please contact me if you have any queries using the class email address:
