Term 6 Week 3

Here is an outline of your learning for term 6, week 3:

Term 6 Week 3 – overview

 

We have our ukulele lesson with Mr Lawrence as usual this week.

 

Spelling and grammar – we will be working on spellings from the year 3 and 4 statutory list.

 

This week we will be carrying out assessments in English and Maths.

 

In guided reading, we will be focusing on a different text extract each week in order to practise a range of reading comprehension strategies.  We will be covering fiction, nonfiction, and poetry.

 

We will continue with fractions, working on adding fractions to mixed numbers, subtracting fractions and subtracting fractions from mixed numbers.

 

In Science, we will be reviewing our learning on the digestive system and carrying out an assessment.

 

In RE we will be beginning a new unit exploring what it is like to be a Hindu in Britain today.

 

PE is on Tuesday morning and Thursday afternoon.   This term we are doing athletics and will be preparing for sports day!

 

Reading records will be sent home, with free-reading children choosing a book from the selection in class or bringing one from the reading scheme.  All children have an additional book in their tray for reading sessions in class.  Please could we have reading records in school to be checked on Tuesday and Friday mornings.
