Term 6 Week 3

Here is an overview of our learning activities for the week commencing 15th June 2026.
On Tuesday, Year 1 will be visiting Scotney Castle and looking at the flowers that we can see in the grounds as part of our science investigation in plants. The children need to bring a packed lunch with them (unless parents have already ordered a school-packed lunch). Children should wear school uniform but can wear trainers on that day as we will be walking around the site quite a lot.
In our main phonics lessons we will be learning about the ‘er and ‘ing’ suffixes. We will also be reading the words ‘bought’ and ‘favourite’ and writing the words ‘more’ and ‘before’.
In our main Maths lessons, we will be counting to 100 in tens and partitioning tens and ones in 2-digit numbers.
In RE, we will be learning about the Sikh story of Duni Chand and The Solver Needle. We will then complete some activities related to the story.
In PE on Friday morning, we will be continuing to develop our athletic skills ready for sports day.
In Computing, we will be using Scratch Junior as part of our programming module, and we will be learning to move a sprite more than one step at a time.
