Term 6 Week 2

Here is an overview of our learning activities for the week commencing 8h June 2026.
This week, the children in Willow Class will be completing the Year 1 phonics screening check, which is a national assessment. The children will work individually with Mrs Duncombe and try to read some nonsense and some real words.
In English, we will be reading some poems and writing our own versions of them.
In our main Maths lessons we will be learning about positional and directional language in relation to objects and exploring ordinal numbers. We will then start learning about counting to 100.
In RE, we will be learning about the core beliefs of Sikhism and will listen to the story of the Milk and the Jasmine Flower. We will then complete some activities linked to this.
In Computing, we will be using Scratch Jnr to start programming a sprite.
In PE, we will be continuing to develop our athletic skills. Please make sure your child’s PE kit is in school on Tuesday afternoon.
On Friday morning, Willow Class will be joining the rest of the school for the St Barnabas Day procession to the church.
