Term 5, week 2

Now that the weather is improving, can I please remind everyone about hats and water bottles, many thanks.
In Maple Class this week:
Whole Class Reading: this week we will looking at an extract from the book, The Legend of Spud Murphy, by Eoin Colfer. We will discuss vocabulary and content, with the children working as a whole class and in small groups to retrieve information and make inferences about the story.
Maths: we are continuing with the money unit this week, and also starting fractions.
English: we will be starting a new unit this week, using a book called The Egyptian Cinderella and focusing on poetry.
Time and Place: this week, we are starting a new history unit all about the Ancient Egyptians.
Art: we are further investigating puppets and will be considering how we should create our puppets, including which materials to use.
Science and Computing will continue as normal too! Mrs Duncombe will be leading the science unit, all about flowering plants.
Homework will be as usual on Tuesday, and due back next Monday as normal.
