Term 4 Week 5

Here is an overview of our learning activities for the week commencing 23rd March 2026.

In English, we will be continuing to write our Traction Man story. This week we will be using adjectives and adverbs to describe what happens in the story.

In our Phonics lessons we will be learning about words containing the ‘ie’ digraph where it makes an ‘ee’ sound such as ‘field’ and ‘shield’. We will also be reading the words ‘January’ and ‘February’ and writing the words ‘friend’ and ‘also’.

In Maths, we will be learning about measuring mass. We will be discussing the vocabulary ‘heavier’ and ‘lighter’ and using cubes to find the mass of objects.

In RE this week we will be reflecting on our big question of why we think Easter is important to Christians, and we will think about what the story of Easter means to us in terms of sadness, hope or heaven.

In Computing, we will be using a word processing program to write our names and some sentences.

There are parent consultations on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday this week after school. If you have not already made an appointment to see Mrs Pring, please do so via Arbor. If you are unable to come on those days, please speak to Mrs Pring so we can arrange an alternative day for you to come.

If you have any questions or need help with anything, please contact us using the class email address (willow@st-barnabas.kent.sch.uk).
