Term 3 Week 2

Here is an overview of our learning activities for the week commencing 12th January 2026.
In our Phonics lessons we will be learning to read and write words containing ‘ue’. We will learn that in some words 'ue' makes a ‘yoo’ sound (such as in fuel & argue) and in other words it makes an ‘oo’ sound (such as in glue & true). We will also be reading the words ‘many’ and ‘laughed’ and writing the words ‘people’ and ‘looked’.
In English, we will be finishing off our non-chronological report on birds and will then start to write sections of a non-chronological report about fish.
In Maths, we will be continuing our work on place value for numbers up to 20. This week we will be investigating the numbers 17, 18, 19 and 20 and finding one more and one less than different numbers up to 20.
In Computing, we will be practising giving and acting out instructions in preparation for programming some Bee-Bots.
In RE, we will be learning about the story of Matthew the Tax Collector, and we will be thinking about what this story teaches Christians around the theme of friendship and God’s love.
