Term 2 Week 4
In English and Communication this week, we are going to write another diary entry from the point of view of Samuel Pepys. We are going to use our historical understanding of the Thames Frost Fairs to recount the day that Pepys first set foot on the frozen Thames.
In Phonics, we are using the 'wr' to make the /r/ sound/. Our tricky words are 'four' and 'eight'. Our grammar focus is to used adverbs to add detail to simple sentences.
In Maths. we will continue to focus on addition and subtraction. We will explore how to add to and from multiples of ten. Then we will use these skills to solve addition and subtraction problems which cross a 10s barrier.
In Science and Computing, we will create a scientific conclusion for the materials investigation that we completed last week.
In Time and Place, we will continue to make historical discoveries about the Thames Frost Fairs.
We will also complete Guided Reading, Mastering Number, PHSCE and Design and the Arts sessions. We will also continue to practise for our Nativity performances.
