In English and Communication this week we are focusing on recording direct speech. We will practise using speech marks to record direct speech in narrative. We will also explore how synonyms for said can be used to make our writing more interesting for the reader. 

In Phonics, we are focusing on using -ing and -ed to add suffixes to words ending in 'y'. Our tricky words are 'talk' and 'two'. Our grammar focus is verbs. 

In Maths, we are focusing on adding across a 10s barrier. First we will focus on bridging through 10. Next we will focus on using the 5-and-a-bit-ness of numbers to add across a 10s barrier. Finally, we will explore techniques for adding 3 single digit numbers.  

In Science, we will design and complete an investigation focusing on changing the shapes of materials. 

We will also complete PE, Design and the Arts, PHSCE, Mastering Number and Guided Reading sessions as well. We will also begin our Nativity rehearsals in the hall.
