In English and Communication this week we are going to explore direct speech. We will use drama activities to create a dialogue between Samuel Pepys and another character on the night that the Great Fire of London started. We will then use speech bubbles to create a comic strip. We will also use the rules of speech punctuation to turn the dialogue into a short section of narrative. 

In Phonics, we are using 'kn' to make the /n/ sound. Our tricky words are 'other' and 'does' and our grammar focus is to use alphabetical order in dictionaries. 

In Maths, we will focus on addition and subtraction. First, we will focus on calculations which do not cross 10s barriers. Next we will use the bridging through 10 technique to solve calculations which cross 10s barriers. 

In Science and Computing, we will continue to analyse materials and their properties. We will also sort objects using Venn Diagrams. 

We will also complete PE, RE, Design and the Arts, Guided Reading, PHSCE and Mastering Number sessions.
