This week in Maple Class:

English: We will be researching Skara Brae, a Neolithic settlement in the Orkney Isles. We will also be considering the format of a holiday brochure.

Whole Class Reading: We will be reading Leon and the Place Between, a beautifully written and illustrated book by Angela McAllister. The children will discuss the vocabulary and answer comprehension questions, both as a group, in pairs and independently.

Maths: This week we will focus on adding and subtracting 10s, spotting the patterns and moving to crossing tens and hundreds.

Art: We will be continuing the still life unit, aiming to complete these this week with our own choice of medium.

RE: This term, we are continuing the Incarnation unit and investigating the Trinity.

PE is on a Wednesday and Friday this term, and we will be continuing the netball unit this week. Please ensure your child has their full PE kit in school.

In addition, we will also be doing Science and Computing with Mrs Banner.

Homework will be issued on Tuesday as usual, and is due back next Monday. If you have any concerns about the homework, please email the Maple Class email or catch a member of the team on the playground. Please try to read with the children and encourage them to put their reading records and homework books in the basket in the classroom.
