This Week's Learning

Term 1 Week 2

In English and Communication this week we are going to turn our attention towards the year 1666 and the Great Fire of London. We are going to read information texts and record important information. We are going to read pieces of narrative and begin to create our own descriptions of what the fire might have been like.

In Phonics, we are going to revisit the Phase 5 sounds that we learnt in year 1. We will also continue to learn the following tricky words:

In Maths, we are going to write the numbers 0-100 in words. We will also focus on how to flexibly partition 2-digit numbers. We will then develop a systematic method to do so.

In Science and Computing, we are going to focus on the role of Information Technology at school.

In Time and Place, we are going to use a walking timeline to help us understand when the year 1666 was. We will then use a range of primary and secondary sources to make discoveries about the Great Fire of London.

We will also complete Mastering Number, Guided Reading, PE, RE and Design and the Arts activities as well.

If you have any questions, please contact us using the class email address.
