Welcome to Maple Class!

I am really looking forward to seeing the children on Wednesday, and to meeting those children who were not able to visit Maple Class at the end of last term.

During the next two weeks, we will mainly focus on settling into the new class and learning the new routines. We will be investigating the book ‘The Boy Who Loved Maps’, by Kari Allen, a delightful book about a young mapmaker and his friend. The children will be sharing their thoughts and ideas, completing some artwork and creating their own stories, based on the text.

We will also be making a start on the maths curriculum, starting with Place Value and beginning our timetable challenges, something the children all enjoy in year 3!

Each week, moving forward, I will share with you the learning goals for the coming week and keep you up to date with our learning journey. I will also include the homework for each week and any key pieces of information.
