Maple Class

Week Beginning: Monday 22nd June

 

Maple Class’ topic is ‘Cool Britannia’, an exploration of the country we live in. A lot of our learning is based around exploring Great Britain.

Maple Class now have a blog, which you can find on the schools website. I would love to see any work that you are proud of please email it to maple@st-barnabas.kent.sch.uk  I am also really happy to answer any questions or give any advice I can.

Reading: Mr Mackinnon Will be reading ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’ with you. Read and listen to the first part of the story and answer the questions

Spelling

  • First, try to find the words in the wordsearch. They are the words from this term so far. Don’t worry if you haven’t practiced them already.
  • This week there are three, Look Say Cover Write Check, resources.
  • For each one there is a Purple Mash to do: Y3 SUM2 WK4 D1, Y3 SUM2 WK4 D2, Y3 SUM2 WK4 D3.

 

Writing: We are carrying on looking at nonsense poems this week.

Maths: This week we are carrying on looking at the properties of shapes. We are starting by looking at 2D shapes, then 3D shapes

  • Do the 2D shapes worksheet
  • Select a mild (D), medium (E), or hot (G) Recognise and describe 2D shapes RPS worksheet
  • If you want more challenge, do the mild (D), medium (E), or hot (G) 2Dshapes VF worksheet
  • Look at the 3D shapes. Which ones do you know? Remember that the corners of 3D shapes are called vertices
  • Go on a 3D shapes hunt. What shapes can you find?
  • Do the 3D shapes worksheet
  • Select a mild (D), medium (E), or hot (G) Recognise and describe 3D shapes RPS worksheet
