Chestnut Class learning for Friday 8th January 2021

Term 3 Week 1

Friday 8th January 2021

Good morning Chestnut Class!

It’s Friday and we are going to stick to our usual routine as much as possible.  Your work for the day is as follows:

Reading for 30 minutes.  You can do this in shorter chunks if you wish.  Please note down what you have read in your yellow reading record.

Online celebration assembly – you will have been sent a link, via parentpay, to join this.  I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible!

PE – in school we will be having a PE session and so I would like you to get active at home.  I have attached a link to a Joe Wicks workout on Youtube, but you can choose another one if you like, or indeed another form of exercise.  Perhaps you could use this time for your daily outdoor exercise?

Times tables practise – we always spend the second half of a Friday morning using Purple Mash to improve our times tables fluency.  You can use this platform to do the speed tests or Monster Multiplication.  Alternatively, I have attached a times tables matrix and a times table square if you would like to work that way.

RE – we are beginning a new unit called Gospel. The big question we address is: What kind of world did Jesus want?In this first session we will be putting down our initial thoughts about a) a symbol b) an image and c) the big question. If possible, I would like you to email me the work you do for this lesson. The lesson outline is attached to this blog post in 3 parts.

I hope you all have a good weekend!
