Good morning Chestnut Class!

Reading for 30 minutes.  You can do this in shorter chunks if you wish.  Please note down what you have read in your yellow reading record.

Spelling – Please use the attached flash cards to practise words with ei, eigh, ey spellings.  You can ask someone to pick one and get you to spell it out.  Alternatively, you can write out the words in different ways.

 

Whole class reader – Comprehension questions for Chapter 4.  These are attached to the blog post.

 

English – Goblinology booklet. Page 22 – Goblin trap.  Today I would like you to design a trap.  It can be for your own Goblin, or one you have learned about in the booklet.  First draw and label it.  Next, I would like you to explain how it works.  You will need to use bossy verbs and time adverbials to make it clear.

On Friday, I will be asking you to try to make a model of it as a D&T lesson!

 

Maths – Multiplying by 100.  Building on your work multiplying by 10, we will be moving on to multiplying by 100.  I have attached the worksheet and answers.  Please watch this learning video first:

Maths fluency – I have set you a 3 times tables pairs activity on Purple Mash

 

RE – We will be learning about the story of the Good Samaritan.  We will then be reflecting on the other stories we have encountered – the calling of the disciples and the healing of the leper.  We will then think about what they tell us about the kind of world Jesus wanted.  I have attached the lesson materials to this blog.
