Information Writing

Here are some examples of the pairs of information sentences that we created in class this week.

Straw is a bad building material because it is flammable. If there is a fire then it will burn easily.

Straw is a good building material because it is opaque. If you build a roof from it then no one can see in.

Wood is a good building material because it is rigid. If you build walls with it then they will not bend.

Pitch is a good building material because it is waterproof. If you build roofs with it then water cannot get in.

Pitch is a bad building material because it is extremely flammable. If there is a fire it will catch fire very easily.

Glass is a good building material because it is transparent. If you build windows from it then you can see through them.

Glass is a bad building material because it is fragile. If you hit it then it will break.

If you want to practise these skills at home, I have attached all the documents that you will need. If you create some great sentences at home then please bring them into school so we can use them in our writing next week.
