Term 3 Week 2

In English and Communication this week, we are focusing on planning our Knight's Quest. We will begin by designing a kingdom and then inhabit it with all sorts of characters- both good and bad. Next, we will plan out a quest for our hero to complete and map it out on the huge story board that we are going to build in our classroom. Finally, we will turn our attention to our first writing genre of the term- instruction writing. We will focus on using imperative (bossy) verbs to give our hero clear and simple instructions to follow to complete their quest. 

In Maths, we will focus on making equal and unequal groups. Next we will focus on using a range of different techniques to record our thinking- including words, numerals, pictures and models. 

On Wednesday and Thursday we will take part in two days of whole-school Design and the Arts activities. We will focus on the work on The Great Wave by Hokusai Katsushika. We will explore his art and learn a range of different techniques to reproduce a piece of his work. We will also take part in a drama workshop focusing on Japanese folk tales. 

We will also complete PE, RE, Spelling and Guided Reading activities.
