Term 4 Week 5

Here is an overview of our learning activities for the week commencing 18th March 2024.

In English, we will be continuing to work on our Traction Man story. This week we will be writing the start of our Traction Man adventure.

In our Phonics lessons we will be learning about words containing the ‘s’ suffix, such as cars and dogs and the ‘es’ suffix, such as buses and foxes. We will also be reading the words ‘scissors’ and ‘castle’, and writing the words ‘live’ and ‘coming’.

In Maths, we will be learning about volume and capacity. This week we will be discussing the vocabulary ‘full’ and ‘empty’, measuring the capacity of different containers and comparing the capacity of the containers.

In RE this week we will be reflecting on our big question of why we think Easter is important to Christians and we will think about what the story of Easter means to us in terms of sadness, hope or heaven.

In our Science work we will be conducting an investigation with eggs made from different materials. In our Time and Place work we will be learning about the four directions on a compass.

This week there are parent consultations on Tuesday and Wednesday after school. If you have not already made an appointment to see Mrs Pring, please do. If you are unable to come on either of those days, please speak to Mrs Pring so that we can arrange an alternative day for you to come.

If you have any questions or need help with anything, please contact us using the class email address (willow@st-barnabas.kent.sch.uk).
