Term 4 Week 1

Here is an overview of our learning activities for the week commencing 19th February 2024.

In our Phonics lessons we will be learning about words containing the ‘ph’ digraph such as ‘dolphin’ and ‘phone’. We will also be reading the words ‘Wednesday’ and ‘brother’ and writing the words ‘because’ and ‘different’.

In English and Science we will be starting to write a fact file about mammals, including the features of mammals and what they eat.

In Maths we will be finishing our work on addition and subtraction on Monday and Tuesday. We will then start learning about numbers up to 50. This week we will be counting from 20 to 50, learning about counting in 10s and will be making groups of 10.

We are starting a new topic in RE and we will be thinking about our key question of the term: ‘Why does Easter matter to Christians?’ This week we will be talking about the words “Incarnation” and “Salvation” and how they relate to Jesus’ birth and death for Christians.

Willow class will continue to have PE on Monday morning and Wednesday morning so please make sure that on these days your child has their PE kit in school and that earrings are removed where possible.

If you have any questions or need help with anything please contact us using the class email address (willow@st-barnabas.kent.sch.uk).
