Term 3 Week 5

Here is an overview of our learning activities for the week commencing 5th February 2024.

In our Phonics lessons we will be learning about words where ‘c’ makes an ‘s’ sound such as pencil and where ‘g’ makes a ‘j’ sound such as gem. We will also be reading the words ‘Monday’ and ‘Tuesday’ and writing the words ‘many’ and ‘laughed’.

In English, we will be writing a fact file about fish, including the features of fish and what they eat.

In Maths, we will be learning about near doubles, subtracting ones using number bonds and finding the difference between two numbers.

In RE, we will be discussing whether there are things anyone, not just Christians, can learn from Jesus’ teachings.

In Art, we will be finishing our wave pictures, making tree pictures and mixing primary colours to create secondary colours.

In our Time and Place lesson, we will be comparing modern life with the time when Mary Seacole and Florence Nightingale were alive. We will think about how homes, transport, clothing and food differ.
