Term 2 Week 7

Here is an overview of our learning activities for the week commencing 11th December 2023.

We have reached the last full week of term. This week we have our dress rehearsal for our Nativity Play on Monday afternoon and will be performing the play for our families on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon at 2pm.

During this week we will be finishing off our maths work on 2D and 3D shapes. This week we will be looking at shape patterns. We will also be practising counting up to 20.

In our main Phonics lessons we will be learning to read and write words containing the ‘ew’ digraph. In some words, this digraph makes a ‘yoo’ sound (such as in new & stew) and in other words it makes an ‘oo’ sound (such as in blew & chew). We will also be reading the words ’different’ and ‘because’ and writing the words ‘called’ and ‘asked’.

In English, we will be finishing off our instructions on how to make a sandwich.

In our Computing and Art lessons, we will be using coloured dots to create a sunflower picture in the style of Georges Seurat.

We will also be finishing off our Science work on the weather and some of our artwork from previous weeks.

If you have any questions or need help with anything, please contact us using the class email address (willow@st-barnabas.kent.sch.uk).
