Term 2 Week 5

Here is an overview of our learning activities for the week commencing 27th November 2023.

This week in Phonics we will be learning about the ‘ir’ digraph, in words such as girl and twirl. We will also be learning to read the words ‘work’ and ‘have’ and to spell the words ‘love’ and ‘your’.

In Maths, we will be learning to recognise and name 3D shapes and will sort 3D shapes into groups. We will also be doing some number fluency work on number bonds for 10 and ordering numbers to 10.

In RE, the class will be talking about what we are personally thankful for at Christmas. We will also be thinking about our key question of the term: Why does Christmas matter to Christians?

In Art, we will be looking at The Snail by Henri Matisse and using this as inspiration for our own shape pictures.

In our Computing lesson we will be using different sized circles to make a picture in the style of Wassily Kandinsky.

We will also be rehearsing for the KS1 Nativity play on Monday morning, Wednesday morning and Friday afternoon. We are looking forward to performing our play on 12th and 13th December at 2pm. Please could all costumes be in school by 6th December.

This week, Willow Class will only have PE on Thursday morning.
