For the next 6 weeks, Miss Ward will be teaching Willow Class with Mrs Pring. Mrs Tompsett will be teaching in Year 3 for the next 4 weeks so will not be in Willow Class on a Thursday.

This week, we are going to start our new topic about ‘Heroes’. We will begin by talking about what makes someone a hero. We will then think about everyday heroes, like nurses and firefighters, and what qualities they display. Finally, we will talk about our heroes and what makes them special.

In Maths, we are going to be reviewing some of our learning about counting up to 20 and how to represent and order teen numbers. We will then be using a number line and Rekenrek to count on.

In Science, we are going to be learning about different animals and will start thinking about how we can group them together. In PE on Wednesday, we will be thinking about the ways in which animals move and will be working on an animal dance over the next few weeks.

We will also be completing Guided Reading and phonics activities. In Phonics we will be splitting into groups and our main focus will be revisiting the trigraphs ‘ear’, ‘air’ and ‘ure’.
