Term 6 Week 5

Here is an outline of your learning for term 6, week 5:
Term 6 Week 5– overview
Our sports day is on Wednesday at 10.30. We really look forward to seeing you there!
Our ukulele lesson with Mr Lawrence will happen as usual on Monday afternoon.
Spelling and grammar – we will be reviewing the year 3 and 4 spelling words.
In English, we will be editing and improving the amazing stories we have written. We will then design book covers, write up our completed stories and turn them into books. This is always a highlight after all our hard work!
In maths, we will be working on calculating with money, which is a next step after our work on decimals. We will be converting between pounds and pence, comparing amounts of money, estimating and counting amounts of money.
In science, we will begin learning about food chains.
In history, we are learning about how Anglo-Saxon society was ruled.
In RE, we will be learning about how Hindus worship at home.
Reading records will be sent home, with free-reading children choosing a book from the selection in class or bringing one from the reading scheme. All children have an additional book in their tray for reading sessions in class. Please could we have reading records in school to be checked on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.
Homework will be issued this Wednesday and is due on the following Monday.
