In English and Communication this week, we will focus on editing and improving the dragon descriptions that we created last week. We have already harvested words and phrases from books about dragons. We will analyse these words and phrases and then use them to create our own sentences describing the dragon. 

In Phonics this week, we will use the 'mb' digraph to make the/m/ sound. Our tricky words will be famous and shoe. Our grammar focus will be to use a dictionary to find word definitions. 

In Maths, we will continue our learning about division and then begin a new unit of work focusing on measurement of height and length. We will explore the concept of standardised units of measurement and then learn how to measure in cm. 

In Science, we are going to plan a comparative fair test to investigate what green plants need to grow well. 

In Time and Place we are going to focus on the year 1066 and consider the pros and cons of the four different claimants to the English crown. We will then vote on who we think would make the best king. 

We will also complete Design and the Arts, PE, Mastering Number, PHSCE and Guided Reading activities as well.
