Term 3 Week 1

This week our spelling focus will words with the ‘gu’ spellings and activities will be set on Tuesday and Thursday.

Grammar work will focus on recognising apostrophes.  This will be set on Wednesday and Friday.  You will have a teaching powerpoint, activity sheets and answers.

Guided reading sessions will use our new reader The Iron Man.  We will follow the usual pattern of reading the text over several sessions and answering questions.  The text will be attached to the blog post.

In English, we will be using the Talk for Writing booklet, Goblinology.  It has been designed specifically for home learning.  You will be provided with the full booklet, but each day you will be directed to the task you need to complete.

Maths will follow the usual White Rose teaching videos and accompanying work sheets.  We will be covering perimeter and it will involve fluency and problem solving.

Times table practise will be carried out using Purple Mash and a variety of online activities.

In RE we will be beginning a unit on Gospel.

Science learning will focus on states of matter.

Topic work this week will begin with an introduction to how government works.

The art focus will continue to be Georgio Morandi still life.
