Term 2 Week 2
In English this week, we are going to move on to a new section of Journey. We are going to focus on the section where the purple bird saves the girl from the cage. First, we are going to write a set of action sentences to retell this part of the story. Next, we are going to uses these sentences to build a plan for an extended piece of writing. We are going to indicate where we wish to add extra descriptive sentences and show/tell sentences. Finally, we are going to use all the Writing skills that we have learned so far to create a complete piece of narrative writing.
In Maths we are going to use and apply our understanding of place value to help us calculate with multiples of 10. We are going to complete addition and subtraction problems as well as reasoning and problem solving activities.

Next, we are going to focus on using basic counting forwards and backwards skills to solve arithmetic and reasoning problems.

In ICT we are going to focus on using our coding skills to create simple geometric shapes on the Logo programme. We will explore how the repeat function can be used to code with greater efficiency. If you would like to practise these skills at home the following activities have been added as 2Dos on PurpleMash:
