Term 2 Week 3

Here is an overview of our learning activities for week commencing 15th November 2021.

This week in Phonics we will be learning split digraphs: ‘a-e’ as in cake, ‘e-e’ as in Pete, ‘o-e’ as in hope and ‘u-e’ as in cube.

In Maths we will be learning about the subtraction symbol and will be focussing on different ways to subtract (taking away, find a part and counting back). We will also be doing some number fluency work on number bonds to 10 and investigating number sequences. .

In English and topic work we are continuing to focus on the story of the 3 Little Pigs. This week we will be building houses for the 3 Little Pigs (we ran out of time last week) and then writing some instructions. This week in RE lesson, we will be starting to talk about why Jesus’ birth is important to Christians and how the story of Jesus’ life is retold in the Gospels in the Bible.

We will be starting to learn the songs for our Christmas Nativity this week. A letter will be sent out to give you more information about costumes and timings.
