In Phonics this week, we will be learning about different ways of making the ‘ee’ sound. We will be revisiting ‘ee’, ‘ea’, ‘e-e’ and ‘ey’ and will be learning about words where ‘ie’ and ‘y’ make this sound.  Activities will be set daily to help you practise.

In English we will be continuing to focus on poems and rhymes. This week you will be asked to write some of your own riddles and rhymes and to learn and recite a poem. Activities will be set daily for you to follow.

In Maths we are continuing to learn about numbers up to 50. Activities this week will cover representing numbers to 50, finding one more and one less than a given number, comparing groups of objects and numbers up to 50 and ordering numbers.

We will also set wider curriculum activities during the week. This will include RE (Monday), ICT (Tuesday), Topic (Wednesday), Art (Thursday) and PE/Creative (Friday).

In RE this week, we will be reflecting on what we have learnt about this term and will be considering the question: What is the good news that Jesus brings?

Tuesday 9th February is Safer Internet Day. The global theme this year is ‘together for a better Internet and this year in the UK we are putting the focus on creating an Internet we trust. An ICT themed activity will be set on Tuesday rather than Friday.

In Topic this week we will start to learn about Florence Nightingale and her impact on nursing.

On Thursday you will be asked to create a picture of Florence Nightingale using what you learnt about self-portraits last week. If you haven’t sent in a photograph of your self-portrait please do so that we can add it to our class display.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you need any help or support.
