Good morning Chestnut Class!

Reading for 30 minutes.  You can do this in shorter chunks if you wish.  Please note down what you have read in your yellow reading record.

Grammar – This session is a refresher on using apostrophes for possession and contraction.  I have attached a teaching powerpoint to watch first and then a set of questions.  Please remember you do not have to do all 3 sheets.

Whole class reader – Please re-read Chapter 4 of the Iron Man.  Pick out any vocabulary you are unsure of and investigate what it means.

 

English – Goblinology booklet. Today we will be working on time adverbials.  We worked on adverbials in the autumn term, but here is a reminder:

An adverbial is a word or phrase that modifies a verb.It provides information about how, where, when or how often something happens.

Re-read the instructions on page 17 and 18.Pick out any time adverbials and write them into the cloud template on page 21.See if you can add some more of your own.

 

Tuesday 26th January- 11am- Holocaust Memorial Foundation Workshop.

To help mark Holocaust Memorial Day, we will take part in a live session to find out how we can take part in a hands on activity provided by the Holocaust Memorial Foundation Project and help create a long lasting and tangible memorial for those who lost their lives in the Holocaust. In this session, we will discuss the events surrounding the Holocaust in an age appropriate fashion.
