Term 6 Week 4

Here is an outline of your learning for term 6, week 4:
Term 6 Week 4– overview
Our ukulele lesson with Mr Lawrence will happen as usual on Monday afternoon.
Spelling and grammar – we will be reviewing words we have learnt this term.
In English, we will be writing our own versions of Beowulf. We have been working towards this since last term by learning and practising all the language features we need to use to craft an effective hero myth.
In maths, we will be completing the unit of decimals by ordering decimals, rounding them to the nearest whole number, learning what the decimal equivalent of halves and quarters is and completing an end of unit assessment.
In science, we will begin learning about the human digestive system to build on our learning about teeth.
In history, we are learning about the Scots and Picts and how they interacted with each other and the Anglo-Saxon invaders and settlers.
In RE, we will be learning about how Hindus worship in a mandir.
Reading records will be sent home, with free-reading children choosing a book from the selection in class or bringing one from the reading scheme. All children have an additional book in their tray for reading sessions in class. Please could we have reading records in school to be checked on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.
Homework will be issued this Wednesday and is due on the following Monday.
