Term 5 Week 1

Here is an outline of your learning for term 5, week 1:
Term 5 Week 1 – overview
Welcome back from the Easter break!
On Tuesday afternoon, we are lucky to be having a visit from Applause Theatre. We will be watching the show Anansi and the Lost Sun.
Spelling and grammar – we will be revising spellings from the spring term.
In English, we will be spending our time learning lines and lyrics for our forthcoming show Alice in Wonderland which we will be performing at the Trinity Theatre very shortly!
In Maths, we will be moving onto a unit on decimals by looking at tenths as fractions, tenths as decimals, tenths on a place value chart and tenths on a number line. We will continue to practise times tables in preparation for the national assessment at the beginning of June.
In Science, we will be learning about changes to states and will carry out an experiment into the weight of gases.
In RE, we will be considering what outward signs we might identify as being distinctly Christian.
PE is on Monday morning with Mrs Barter and on Thursday afternoon with Mrs Tompsett. This term we are going to be focusing on cricket and athletics.
Reading records will be sent home, with free-reading children choosing a book from the selection in class or bringing one from the reading scheme. All children have an additional book in their tray for reading sessions in class. Please could we have reading records in school to be checked on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.
Homework will be issued this Wednesday and is due on the following Monday.
