Our final session about the Victorians at the end of Term 4 was a cookery lesson.  We made shortbread using the recipe created by Mrs Isabella Beeton, who was born in 1836. Her recipes were illustrated with coloured engravings, and she was the first cookery writer to format recipes in the layout still used today.  If you fancy making some at home, I have attached the recipe!
