This Week's Learning

Term 4 Week 6
In English and Communication this week, we are going to focus on creating a section of narrative. We are going to take the simple and complex sentences that we wrote last week and explore how we can add extra detail to them in order to interest the reader.
In Phonics, we are using 'o' to make the /u/ sound. Our tricky words are group and country. Our grammar focus is alternative words for 'said'.
In Maths, we are focusing on measuring Volume and Capacity. We will learn how to measure in litres and millimetres and develop our ability to read scales.
In Science and Computing we are going to complete our scientific conclusion. Next, we are going to closely examine the plants that have been growing in our classroom this term. We will consider the changes they have undergone and learn about the life cycle of plants. We will also consider how plants adapt to suit their habitats.
In Time and Place, we will focus on the Bayeux Tappestry. We will use it to make historical discoveries about the Norman Invasion of England in 1066. We will then evaluate how useful and reliable it is as a historical source of information.
We will also complete Mastering Number, PHSCE, PE and Design and the Arts sessions as well. If you would like to know more about your child's learning, please do not hesitate to contact us using the class email address.
